1. A Boost Mobile phone. 2. Active service. If your plan does not include unlimited web then you may have to add it. Cost: $0.35 a day. 3. A data cable. These are typically dependant on the connector on your phone. Most popular is Mini USB. So you may need a Mini USB to USB cable. 4. The necessary drivers.
A. Click Start, then click Control Panel, then click Network Connections. B. Click Create a new network. 1. The first screen is "Welcome to the network connection wizard". Click Next. 2. Select "Connect to the Internet" then click Next. 3. Select "Set up my connection manually" and click Next. 4. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem". 5. For the ISP Name, name it something you will know this connection is used for your boost mobile tethering. 6. For the phone number put in S=2#777 and click Next. 7. On Internet Account Information leave all 3 fields blank and click Next. 8. On "Completing the New Connection Wizard", check mark the box if you want a shortcut on the desktop then click finish.
A. Click Start, then Control Panel, then Network Connections. B. Right click the new connection you just made and select Properties from the pop-up menu. C. Click the General tab, and click Configure. This will set your baud speed between your phone and your computer. THIS IS NOT THE SPEED AT WHICH YOU WILL CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. Setting it to 57600 is normal. Make sure your phones Baud Rate is set to at least the speed you selected or on AUTO. Be sure "Enable hardware flow control" is also checkmarked. Click OK. D. From the Properties window select Networking, and the "Type of dial-up server I am calling" should be PPP, if not select from the drop down menu the "PPP: WIndows 95/98/NT4/2000, Internet". And click Settings. E. A PPP Settings pop-up should appear with 3 options. Make sure "Enable LCP extentions" and "Negotiate multi-link for single link connections" are unchecked. "Enable software compression" has to be checkmarked. Click OK. F. At the Properties pop-up click OK.

box to put the icon in there when it's connected. To make sure it will be in your system tray when you are connected click Start, then Control Panel, then click Network Connections. Right click the new connection you made and select Properties from the pop-up menu. On the General tab at the bottom will be "Show icon in notification area when connected". If that box is empty then click it to check mark it, and click OK. You may have to reconnect again and from now on when you do it will show up in the system tray.
2. You will never experience "broadband" speeds with this. Your speeds will be around 25kbps. Basically 1/2 the speed of dial-up. If you use a Network Monitoring software it may say the speeds reached nearly DSL speeds. That is a fluke. The 25kbps is set by the network. 3. There is a limit as to how much bandwith you can use. Which is based on your network area. There is no way to find out this information. But the cap may be at 5 gigabytes. Although you will more than likely not achieve that much bandwith in a month because of the low internet speeds. If you use excessive bandwith you may get your service terminated with or without your notice. 4. This should really only be used for light internet activity. Surfing the web, email and visiting boostcentral.com. Or to be used as a backup incase your traditional ISP is Out-Of-Service. 5. And finally, making or receiving a call/mms/wt may disconnect you. You will have to reconnect.
